A luxurious, warming barleywine rich with aromatic hops and dark, candied fruit character that hides its epic strength masterfully.
Tasting Notes:
Pours a hazy amber with a creamy tan colored head. Smells of German malt and raisons. Husk in the nose and in the taste with a fair amount of hops. Definately an American interpretation of the style. The hops really cut the sweet malts nicely and leave a reason to come back without getting overwhelmed by sweet, sweet, sweet. An enjoyable offering from Victory and a super smooth 11% at that. Good beer with great packaging. makes me wanna put on long-johns and watch some snow fall.
